Kovilpatti Lakshmi Roller Flour Mills Ltd.

From a single mill producing 50 tonnes of flour in 1964, Kovilpatti Lakshmi Roller Flour Mills Ltd, has expanded both its product offerings and quantities of production significantly. Today, we mill over 5500 tonnes of food products every month, including Maida, Atta, Sooji and Bran.

Mr. V.N. Jayaprakasam (Director), a graduate of the prestigious Swiss school of Milling St. Gallen was one of the first Indians officially selected and sent to study overseas by Sri. V. Jagannathan (Chairman) to setup the KLRF Flour Milling unit.

KLRF Food timeline

1961

Incorporated on 16th December, as a private limited company with an authorised capital of 9 lakhs, installed capacity of 50 Tonnes

1982

Converted into a public limited company on 8th May and capacity is increased to 2600 Tonnes per month

1989

Capacity increased to 4700 Tonnes per month

2000

Becomes the second ISO Certified Flour Mill in the country (ISO 9002:1994 by M/S TUV SUD).
We introduce the new WWA (Whole Wheat Atta) production facilities.

2009

Management system certification is changed to ISO 22000:2005 (Food safety management system) being a food product industry ​emphasizing hygiene and food safety requirements

2012

We receive the coveted ISO 270001:2005 Certification for our Information Security Mangement System (Awarded by M/S TUV SUD South Asia Pvt. Ltd.)

2015

Coveted Certificate ISO 27001 : 2013 (ISMS, awarded by TUV SUD South Asia Pvt. Ltd.)

2017

Present capacity is 6160 Tonnes per month including Whole Wheat Atta grinding

KLRF Engineering

KLRF diversified into metal working, with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art foundry and sheet metal works in the industrial city of Coimbatore. From an initial capacity of 1,500 tonnes in 1973, today KLRF Engineering’s two division companies – Eltex Super Castings and KLRF Sheet Metal Industries - together have a capacity to produce over 15,000 MT of precision-engineered parts.

Sri V. Jagannathan (Chairman) received Indian Institute of Foundrymen Coimbatore chapter best foundry award 1991, sponsored by PSG Industrial Institute.

1973

Incorporated with installed capacity of 1500 Tonnes per annum.

1975

Started commercial production.

1978

Actual production crossed 1200 Tonnes per annum.

1980

Capacity increased to 3600 Tonnes per annum by adding two moulding lines and 3.50 Tonnes induction Furnace.

1983

Increase in capacity to 4800 Tonnes per annum.

1984

Actual production crossed 3000 Tonnes per annum.

1986

Started exports to European countries additional 3.5 Tonnes Induction furnace and a Rotary Furnace were added.

1990

Actual Production of crossed 5000 Tonnes per annum.

1991

Sri V.Jagannathan (Chairman) received Indian Institute of Foundrymen Coimbatore Chapter Best Foundry Award 1991, sponsored by PSG Industrial Institute.

2006

Amalgamation with KLRF division. The production capacity of the division is 9600 Tonnes per annum of Iron Castings.

2010

Modernization and addition of moulding lines including higher capacity box size.
Capacity increased to 9000 Tonnes per annum.

2013

Capacity increased to 10800 Tonnes per annum.

2014

Actual production crossed 7500 Tonnes per annum.

2017

Actual production crossed 9000 Tonnes per annum.
